Amateur Radio Awareness By IWAR :

In the recent Aila ravaged village of GOSOBA, South 24 Parganas, the Members of Indian Wave of Amateur Radio (IWAR), of Uttarpara Hooghly were able to establish communication with cyclone victims by facilitating the local authorities and other various organizations to ensure aids reach to the victims by keeping close vigil through the radio communication over the inaccessible areas and supervised proper supply of drinking water, foods, medical supervisions, and missing persons.

In the couple of months back we premeditated and developed various awareness programs and materialistic demonstration with the inhabitants of the coastal and distant rural areas which were seriously affected by past natural catastrophes within a few years back.

The Awareness Programmes developed and introduced by us are enthusiastic for the students/youths and also for other inhabitants of the locality as well.

In support to the POST AILA condition and also with a view to build an Amateur Radio Network for better working infrastructure in the future disasters we planned to organize awareness programme and live demonstration of the Amateur Radio on 25th 26th and 27th December 2009 at Ranjabelia High School, Gosoba, South 24 Parganas.

They are inviting some of well-known amateur radio operators and other enthusiastic persons who have keen interest in Amateur Radio Activity and to work with the same for the mankind and to participate in the awareness programme far away from the modern city livelihoods.

They will also arrange open sessions for general awareness and/or campaign with the villagers and others residents of the locality and shall aware and edify students /youths as one of the elementary neighboring workforce to provide support and service in post disaster situation.
