Slim Jim's and J-Poles :

Slim Jim and/or J-Poles can be made from some wire on a stick of PVC or a broom handle, here are a couple of links to them. Even a calculator to give you all the dimensions. It is always better to say “I made it”. Some people make them and roll it up in a back pack and hang it from a tree in the park. I have done this and it works.

15th Jan, 2011 at 1525 UTC worked RI1ANC on 20M SSB, barefoot using 51 watts, antenna Dipole and got 56 RST. The credit goes to my friend, OM Jay, VU2UBQ gave me a lima lima and thats how I worked Antarctica.
